Barnes Airport Runway Drainage and Runway

Site Work

Barnes Runway Drainage was a 45 day 3.5 million dollar job. It consisted of working at times of over 40 people a day and four sub contractors. We graded over 25 acres of land, moved over 50,000 CY of soil, removed 35,000 CY offsite, and screened and spread over 15,000 CY of top soil. The work also consisted of 69 new drainage structures, CIPP lining of 320 LF of 48″ concrete piping, new electrical wiring, and runway markers. Our hardest part of the job was scheduling and daily shut downs to allow the F-15 fighter jets to train and fly. We used state of the art GPS controlled grading systems for all surveying and bulldozer controlled grading. In the end we hydro seeded 25 acres and finished in 41 days ahead of schedule.
